Creating A Work Of My Own - Jedi Dogs
With the help of Midjourney and the Internet, we were expected to create a work of our own this week in my digital media class. I decided to use my subject from last week, the jedi bulldog, and give him some friends, and a setting to live in. I used Midjourney to create this landscape as well as his so-called friends. This bulldog jedi's friends are a golden retriever jedi and a saint bernard jedi. They are set in a desert-like scene, much like the Star Wars planet Tatooine. This project was a lot of fun to put together. It was also challenging considering I have never used Adobe Photoshop before. I feel I could blend the three jedi friends into the background a bit more, but honestly I am unsure how. It feels a bit patchy, but for my first ever project, I am still proud of how it turned out. It was hard watching videos and tutorials about Photoshop then applying it all by myself. I like to have a mentor in person to help and show me how to do things like that. I felt I kept hitting a wall with certain things, then just played around a little and then figured it out on my own. Sometimes, videos and tutorials only make it more confusing for me.
I am still playing around with Photoshop and familiarizing myself as I do more to my project. The jedi dogs look as if they are not necessarily friends, but just co-workers. I wish Midjourney had made their expressions more emotional than just a standard dog face. I can't wait to work more with Midjourney to make even more ideas come to life. It is so crazy how we simply say what we want to a computer and it generates it and does all the work for us. Whoever founded Midjourney must be a multi-billionaire.
