My Very Own Seurat
As soon as my professor announced this week's assignment, I knew I wanted my artists of choice to be Georges Seurat. I am not extremely familiar with his work other than the famous A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. I decided for this creation, I wanted to make the painting look as familiar as possible, but change it the slightest bit. Then I came up with the brilliant idea of making all the human subjects into all different animals instead. So far, I have created the base painting I am going to use on Midjourney, and a couple different subjects including an alligator in a suit, tie and top hat, and a pig in a Victorian , voluptuous dress. I hope this piece turns out how I hope it will. I know it will be hard for me to make it look so put together, instead of patchy like my last piece. The characters need to match the scene so well. I will have to adjust lighting and colors and shadows and all that crazy stuff.
I cannot wait to feel more confident using Adobe Photoshop. The tutorials have helped a bit, but I find if I follow the videos and try something on my own, I get a better understanding of what I am doing. I am so glad there are resources, services, and applications like Midjourney and Adobe Photoshop available to students like us. We are able to let our creative juices flow, even if we aren't too sure how to use the applications. It is crazy to think about what will come to be in the next few years regarding digital creativity.
